The 2017 eNigeria Conference has been strategically designed to address some of the challenges of driving local content participation and promote digital economy.

A statement by the organizer of the conference, the National Information Technology Development Agency(NITDA) said the Conference, which will be declared open by His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari, will promote deliberations on how Nigeria could thicken the value of its policy thrust on local content in pursuit of a national economy that is less dependent on crude oil export.

“This year’s eNigeria conference is designed around local content and digital economy. It is an effort towards taking Nigeria from oil dependent country. It is also a veritable platform for ICT awareness creation, developing an appropriate framework and setting goals for best practices in order to enhance the appropriate positioning of Nigeria in the global information society,” the statement added.

The statement signed by  Mrs. Hadiza Umar, Head, Corporate Affairs & External Relations noted that the Conference will bring together IT experts, solution providers and major stakeholders from both within and outside Nigeria, with a view to brainstorming on current and relevant IT issues across the globe with the major aim of leveraging on them for sustainable socioeconomic development of Nigeria.

eNigeria Conference is touted as the no. 1 Information Technology Conference in Nigeria. NITDA is organizing the conference in collaboration with relevant IT stakeholders from public, private sector as well as non-governmental organisations.
