Lagos,the fastest growing city in Africa is set to host the biggest gathering of technology, finance and entertainment enthusiasts at the prestigious Finance Mobile & Entertainment Summit (FMES) 2018. This event is set to hold at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday March 22, 2018.
With the Theme, “Leveraging Mobile Entertainment Financing for National Development”, FMES 2018 will focus on how to advance Nigeria’s economy, using entertainment and the potential of digital tools powered by widespread availability of broadband internet.
Speaking to newsmen in Lagos, Don Pedro Aganbi, Managing Consultant, TechTV, organizer of the event, noted that with the widespread adoption and use of smart mobile devices, mobile is quickly emerging as one of the most engaging, dynamic and profitable segment of the entertainment industry.
He revealed that a recent report by PricewaterhouseCoopers indicated that the Nigerian entertainment and media market revenue would hit $6.4 billion in 2021. This is the opportune time for businesses and governments at all levels to seek to understand and then take a position to profit in this burgeoning industry.
According to Aganbi, “the theme was chosen specifically to provide practical insight into critical issues in the mobile entertainment space, including technology developments, financing options, creative and production strategies, content aggregation, talent and licensing issues.” “It would equally focus on the future of entertainment and the creation, distribution, monetization and consumption of content across different mobile platforms” he added.
Aganbi lamented that currently the entertainment on mobile has not even scratched the surface of what is possible. He posited that the summit will be a platform to bring the industry’s thought leaders together to explore the landscape of opportunities and challenges across the mobile entertainment and payment ecosystem. It will also examine on how to harness the power of smart mobile phones to engage, entertain and educate.
The ICT and entertainment enthusiast remarked that the epoch making event will attempt to depict how broadband will influence the entertainment industry under several points of view including digital content, infrastructure, advertising, streaming among others.
