The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) are strengthening its existing collaboration to further explore identity management in Nigeria.
The was the centre of discussion yesterday, when the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Coordinator of the National Identity Management Commission, Ndi Awan, paid a familiazation visit to the telecom regulator.
The visit, according to a Facebook post by NCC, is to explore ways of deepening the existing collaboration between NIMC and NCC in the area of identity management in Nigeria.
Ndi Awan, who represented the Director General of NIMC, Engr. Aliyu Aziz, was received at the NCC Head Office in Abuja on behalf of the EVC/CEO of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta by Mrs. Iyabode Sholanke, NCC’s Director of Projects.
At the meeting, the NIMC delegation described NCC as “a major partner”, and look forward to the Commission’s support in the area of network connectivity in some rural areas of the FCT to enhance effective functioning of the NIMC enrolment centres in Abuja.
