Global computer and electronic company, ASUS is releasing the Zenbook 14 OLED UX3402ZA into the global market by this week, and a cursory look into the laptop shows a conviction it is a major upgrade with many innovations that will likely take a major share of the PC market.

The first attraction to the laptop as gathered by ITPulse’s team is the OLED touchscreen with NanoEdge and up to 2.8K resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio; 0.2 ms response time, 70% less harmful blue light than regular LCD and TÜV Rheinland Eye Care certification.

In terms of configuration and connectivity, Zenbook 14 OLED is equipped with the latest 12th Intel Core i7 processor, supports up to 16 GB of memory, 1 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs and offers Thunderbolt 4, full-size HDMI 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, microSD card reader and audio jack. The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series also features an onboard memory design to allow for a thinner and lighter chassis, and it still provides up to 16 GB capacity and fast 4800 MHz LPDDR5 clock speeds to provide plenty of processing power.

It is uniquely produced with the ErgoSense Keyboard, ErgoSense Touchpad with NumberPad 2.0. available in two color schemes: Ponder Blue and Aqua Celadon. The Ponder Blue model also features an anti-fingerprint coating.

    Other key facts include:

Zenbook 14 OLED, ASUS Laptop180° lay-flat hinge – A unique hinge design allows entire 180° movement so you can lay the laptop flat, which is ideal for on-screen content with others sharing.

    Immersive visual experience

The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series features a 14-inch 2.8K 16:10 OLED HDR touchscreen with a 4-sided NanoEdge design, with incredibly slim 2.8 mm bezels on its external borders providing an up to 90% screen-to-body ratio. The display supports 2880 x 1800 resolution, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.2 ms response time and 90 Hz refresh rate is certified VESA DisplayHDR™ 500 True Black, supporting peak brightness of up to 550 nits and 0.0005 nits of deep black brightness, providing creators with brighter and more detailed viewing experiences.

    Colour Gamut

ASUS OLED laptops deliver exceptionally detailed and realistic visuals, with a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.  Colors reproduced on the display are richer and more vivid: it is ideal for color-intensive projects. When calculating the 3D color volume — which adds illumination to the traditional 2D color gamut — ASUS OLED displays have about a 60% higher color volume, offering better color performance at any brightness level.

ASUS OLED laptops are able to show great detail at lower brightness settings. This means you can see the content more clearly without turning up the brightness; therefore, your eyes are exposed to less blue light.

Zenbook 14 OLED, ASUS LaptopMore reasons you need to choose the ASUS OLED laptop

0.2 ms Instant response for smooth actions

ASUS OLED displays have an ultrafast 0.2 ms response time ― 50X faster than average laptop LCD displays. This ensures smoother fast-paced action scenes, low-latency gameplay, and subtle details like blur-free text scrolling.

    ASUS OLED burn-in prevention

With extended use, certain pixels on the display may age, resulting in degraded colors (burn-in). To prevent this, ASUS takes the following steps:

    • Default shipping in Windows Dark mode
    • Default OLED screen protection: Dims the screen after 5 minutes at idle
    • Samsung OLED burn-in refines the technology
    • OLED screen warranty: 7000 hours, guaranteed (@200 nits)

The Samsung OLED algorithm detects aging pixels and enhances the current passing through these pixels. This enables the degraded pixels to display brighter colors and, as a result, shows accurate perceived colors.

    ASUS OLED Care

Zenbook 14 OLED, ASUS LaptopASUS OLED laptops come with an ASUS-exclusive OLED Care mechanism that’s proven to protect your OLED display. Image persistence, or burn-in, on an OLED display, can occur if a static high-contrast image is displayed for a prolonged period of time. To avoid this, our specially designed screensaver kicks in when your ASUS laptop is idle for over 30 minutes. This significantly reduces the chance of burn-in by making sure all the pixels are illuminated and darkened equally, thus protecting the display from visible color shifts over time.

    Rich Connectivity

The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series features two Thunderbolt™ 4 USB-C ports. Each Thunderbolt 4 port can support up to 40 Gbps data bandwidth, DisplayPort, and Power Delivery. In addition, ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series also offers a full-sized HDMI 2.0 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, an audio combo jack, and a microSD card reader. This makes it possible for the Zenbook 14 OLED series to easily connect to an external 4K display, storage devices, or expand connections.

    APP Switcher

Zenbook 14 OLED, ASUS LaptopWhen an app window is moved, a built-in floating ActionMenu automatically pops up. Users can choose the designated display number and release it, then the app window will be full-screen on the designated display. In addition, the ActionMenu also provides a quarter, left-right alignment, or top-bottom alignment display mode, which can help users quickly position multiple windows to the specified display and position.

    ASUS-exclusive WiFi Master Premium

The Zenbook 14 OLED series is equipped with ASUS WiFi Master Premium technology, which has a built-in dual-band WiFi 6E wireless network for faster wireless transmission performance. It also has an ASUS-exclusive WiFi SmartConnect feature, which provides greater distance, stability, and seamless wireless network experiences for users.

USB-CEasy Charge for power anytime, anywhere

USB-C Easy Charge support means that the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series can be used with a wide range of standard USB-C chargers (5V-20V). Users can enjoy ultrafast charging with any PD (Power Delivery) certified charger, including the 65-watt fast-charge adapter supplied with the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series, or juice up your device on the go with airline chargers, portable chargers or power banks! It’s incredibly convenient when there are no wall sockets available, such as on flights or in vehicles.

Zenbook 14 OLED, ASUS LaptopErgoSense Keyboard

The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series features an ErgoLift hinge design which results in the ErgoSense keyboard automatically tilting when the laptop is opened. This design allows users to type more comfortably and increases the ventilation space under the chassis for improved heat dissipation.

The keyboard of the Zenbook 14 OLED series achieves a 19.05 mm pitch (the distance between the middle of a key to the middle of its adjacent key) and offers many commonly used function keys, enabling users to type comfortably. The keyboard is backlit for convenient typing in dark environments such as flights. In addition, the keys of ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series feature a subtle 0.2 mm dish-shaped indentation and 1.4 mm key travel — the longest of its class of laptops. The dish-shaped indentation subtly guides fingers onto the keys and the long key travel provides better feedback. Together, these features improve typing accuracy and replicate the comfort of using a desktop PC keyboard.

Zenbook 14 OLED, ASUS LaptopUltrasmooth finish, plus anti-fingerprint coating

A hydrophobic and high-end PVD anti-fingerprint coating are both applied to the touchpad of the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED. These coatings ensure excellent resistance to wear and tear while also providing smoother feedback for scrolling movements and making the surface easy to clean. Even after more than 10,000 slides, the touchpad will still be as smooth as new.

    Amazing Audio

The audio system of the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED has been carefully tuned by experts from the ASUS Golden Ear team and certified by audio specialists Harman Kardon to ensure the very best sound for all kinds of content. It outputs louder volumes, richer depth and better surround-sound effects compared to other laptops of a similar size.

ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED features dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Dolby Atmos provides an all-new listening experience that lets users hear music, movies, or podcasts in a detailed aural environment, with perfect clarity and lifelike spatial separation. Users can use the presets or custom-tune the signal by offering a wide range of equalizer settings.

Zenbook 14 OLED, ASUS LaptopWebcam Effect feature

To provide better videoconferencing experiences, the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED series includes a new Webcam Effect feature. Via the MyASUS software UI, users can choose between Lighting Optimization, Background Blurring, Eye Tracking, and Motion Tracking effects.
