Three sub-sectors of the Information Communications and Technology (ICT) sector will be given priority attention at the DISC Forum 2024, which is being organized by CyberAfrica and scheduled to be held March 14, 2024, at the Four Points by Sheraton in Lagos.
The sub-sectors are data centers, cybersecurity and cloud economy.
Speaking to Journalists in Lagos about why these three areas of ICT will get more attention at the forum, Dr. Bayero Agabi, Founder of CyberAfrica, explained that these sub-sectors are presently the drivers of the global economy. Thus, it cannot be ignored.
“We have identified data centers, cybersecurity and cloud economy as areas that are very critical to the robust digital economy that is being championed by the federal government. So, as one of the major industry stakeholders, we have decided that we give more attention to them,” he said.
According to Dr. Bayero, experts have been identified and confirmed to address issues in these sub-sectors and how the industry and indeed, Nigeria’s economy in general can be boosted.
These experts confirmed for the DISC Forum come from a diverse audience, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, CFOs, IT directors, cybersecurity executives, infrastructure managers, and other leading figures from various industries.
With the theme, “Fueling Sustainability of Data Economy Success”, the DISC Forum will also spotlight key elements, such as core infrastructure, investments, content, satellite technology and Big Data.
The Forum will dissect the impact of governmental policies on innovation and technological advancement within Nigeria, unit telecommunications operators, data center professionals, engineers and end-users from across the country.
It will serve as a meeting point for industry-specific discussions, offering a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Also, the DISC Forum 2024 stands as a nexus of expertise, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and actionable insights to propel Nigeria’s digital economy into the future.
