Huawei partners Galaxy Backbone to build Nigeria’s first dual-certified Tier IV Data Center

Galaxy Backbone (GBB), a leading digital transformation company in Nigeria, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first data center in the country to obtain both Uptime Tier IV design and facility certifications. This accomplishment solidifies GBB’s position as a provider of world-class data center services and accelerates Nigeria’s digital transformation.

Uptime Tier IV certification is the highest standard for data center reliability, ensuring a 99.995% availability rate. By partnering with Huawei, GBB has leveraged its expertise to build a data center that meets these stringent requirements.

The partnership between Huawei and GBB has also resulted in a faster construction timeline. Huawei’s prefabricated modular data center solution, FusionDC1000B, reduced the construction time to just one month, compared to the traditional 30-month process. This expedited development allows GBB to quickly meet the growing demand for data center services in Nigeria.
