In a significant stride towards digital governance, Galaxy Backbone (GBB), Nigeria’s premier digital infrastructure provider, is set to empower over 300 civil servants with comprehensive training on Govmail, the government’s secure official email platform.

Throughout March 2025, GBB will conduct specialized training sessions for Email Administrators and Heads of ICT from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). This initiative aims to ensure the effective adoption, management, and administration of Govmail, aligning with the Federal Government’s digitalization agenda.

The training, conducted in collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), emphasizes secure, efficient, and technology-driven governance. A circular issued by the OHCSF underscores the importance of this hands-on training, designed to familiarize civil servants with Govmail’s features and ensure uniform compliance with government digital communication standards.

Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, emphasized GBB’s commitment to securing government communications and driving digital transformation. “This training will enhance civil servants’ ability to effectively utilize Govmail, ensuring professional and secure communication aligned with global best practices,” he stated.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has previously hailed Govmail as a “game changer” for government communication, highlighting its role in enhancing inter-agency collaboration, data sovereignty, and information security.

This capacity-building initiative reinforces GBB’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s digital transformation, ensuring public sector professionals are equipped to leverage digital tools for operational efficiency.
