Pan-African payment solutions leader SeerBit has joined forces with Spectranet, Nigeria’s pioneering 4G LTE broadband service provider, to launch ExpressPay. This innovative payment option is designed to revolutionize how internet subscriptions are paid for and renewed, offering a seamless, efficient, and secure experience.

Many internet users frequently experience service disruptions following subscription renewal due to delays in payment processing. This recurring issue, often compounded by the lack of real-time payment validation, is a significant source of frustration for subscribers. Furthermore, the inconvenience of manual payment methods and the limited availability of options like cards or USSD restrict customer flexibility, negatively impacting satisfaction and loyalty.

ExpressPay, accessible to all customers with a bank account, marks a significant advancement in the digital payment landscape. It directly addresses common challenges faced by internet users, such as payment errors, the need for manual reconciliation, and delays in service activation. With ExpressPay, Spectranet customers are assigned unique virtual accounts, guaranteeing accurate payment processing, eliminating manual intervention, and ensuring instant reflection of payments for uninterrupted internet connectivity.

Given that Nigeria had approximately 161.9 million active internet users as of January 2025, according to data from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and the increasing reliance on internet access for various aspects of modern life, ExpressPay is poised to eliminate payment friction, ensuring seamless payments for uninterrupted internet access.

This collaboration offers Spectranet customers several key benefits, including the elimination of payment errors through unique virtual account assignments that ensure accurate matching of payments to subscriptions. Additionally, payments are processed in real time, removing delays and guaranteeing instant service activation and uninterrupted connectivity. ExpressPay also provides a frictionless payment experience, removing the need for manual verification, thus reducing effort and enhancing customer satisfaction. Importantly, this innovative solution delivers faster processing times, leading to greater efficiency and convenience for users.

Omoniyi Kolade, Founder and CEO of SeerBit, stated, “Internet access is no longer a luxury but a necessity for commerce, education, employment, healthcare access, leisure, and other critical aspects of daily life. Our partnership with Spectranet goes beyond transforming the subscription payments experience; it’s about delivering more value, ensuring customers stay connected without the stress of failed or delayed transactions, and boosting Nigeria’s digital economy. ExpressPay represents the future of seamless internet subscription payments.”

Amrish Singhal, Chief Operating Officer of Spectranet, also commented on the partnership: “As a company dedicated to providing reliable and seamless internet services, we are constantly innovating to enhance our customers’ experience. The launch of ExpressPay as a payment gateway is a significant step forward in our commitment to eliminating payment-related disruptions and ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for our subscribers. Our partnership with SeerBit reinforces this mission, enabling effortless, instant payments that make staying connected easier than ever.”

The launch of ExpressPay underscores the shared commitment of both SeerBit and Spectranet to leverage innovation for digital transformation and improved service delivery across Nigeria. Customers can now look forward to a more reliable, accurate, and efficient way to manage their internet subscriptions, ensuring a frictionless digital experience.
