Canon, a leader in the fields of professional and consumer imaging equipment and information systems has partnered with Warri-based Rolof Computer Academy to kick-start the Canon Academy Juniors in Warri, Delta State.
Announcing this in a short statement, the Founder of Rolof Computer Academy, Mr. Lucky Ofuafor explained that the Canon Academy Juniors is a phenomenal initiative to ignite imaginative skills and foster creativity in kids from a budding age, especially in today’s world of gadgets, games and gizmo’s.
“There is an enhanced sense of encouragement for children and parents alike when a world leader like Canon comes forth to pilot a program like this,” the statement announced.
The statement added that through Canon Academy Juniors, Canon in partnership with Rolof Computer Academy aims to fuel the creative spirit in kids and teenagers through a short photography course that can support them in setting a good foundation towards learning photography.
The course, according to the statement teaches students how to use a camera, fundamentals of photography and basic composition guidelines, stressing that as they say, a picture has the magic to make a moment last forever.
“We are sure when these kids grow up, they will have a fond memory to share from the photos they click at the academy as for some of them it may even be their first photograph from a professional camera which is very exciting,” it stated.
The objective is to invoke an interest in kids and teenagers to learn, develop and share a new skill, pick up a thrilling yet thought-provoking hobby that stimulates them to use their creative thinking. Canon has been at the forefront of promoting such endeavors for youth all over Africa, but now they are taking it a notch higher by empowering kids.
