The Lagos State government today announced the launch of a data centre in a bid to drive it smart city agenda.
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who made the announcement via his official Facebook Page, noted the date Centre is in line with the “Technology” and “Making Lagos a 21st century economy” pillars in its T.H.E.M.E.S agenda.
“We invested in a new Smart City Data Centre. This center is a Tier III design, with 2N redundancy. It is also a fully mirrored system with independent distribution systems,” he announced.
According to him, the Data Centre will support Lagos State government’s Smart City infrastructure with compute and storage services based on industry standards.
He stated that the new acquisition along with the fiber optic and duct infrastructure will provide increased and optimal connectivity and digitization for users, especially in Lagos State.
