The Nigeria Information Technology Reporters Association (NITRA), an umbrella body of all journalists in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry has saluted the appointment of Dr. Bosun Tijani as the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

This is coming after NITDA had in July 2023 before his inauguration set a 13-point agenda for the Minister.

NITRA in a letter to the Minister, signed by its National Chairman, Mr. Chike Onwuegbuchi also expressed readiness to work with the Minister going by his antecedent as a tech ombudsman, who has delivered viable results in his past endeavours.

“We have followed your steps in the ICT industry and are assured that without doubt, this is another position that you will make a great deal of impact.

“You are not new in creative, developmental and managerial affairs, but have been an active participant in decision-making and growth plans for the nation. Hence, our repose of trust in what you can do as the Minister of this expanded Ministry,” the letter cited by our reporter noted.

The letter added that NITRA is on standby for any collaboration that will guarantee the success of Dr. Tijani’s endeavours as the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

“We hope to work together to develop the industry to maintain the upward trajectory of ICT’s contributions to the GDP, which presently stand at 17.47 percent in the first quarter of 2023 according to the latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
