Ecobank is set to unveil the top contenders for its 2024 Fintech Challenge at a high-stakes semifinal event in Lagos on August 14. The competition, which drew over 1,550 entries from 70 countries, will see 40 shortlisted startups battle it out for a chance to win a $50,000 prize and join the prestigious Ecobank Fintech Fellowship program.

The winning fintech will gain unparalleled access to Ecobank’s vast network across 35 African countries, including potential product integration and partnership opportunities. The Ecobank Fintech Fellowship provides mentorship, funding exploration, and access to cutting-edge APIs.

Djiba Diallo, Senior Fintech Advisor at Ecobank, expressed excitement about the talent pool and the upcoming semifinal event. Bolaji Lawal, Managing Director of Ecobank Nigeria, highlighted the importance of the event for the Nigerian fintech ecosystem and encouraged local startups to participate in the panel discussions.

The Ecobank Fintech Challenge is supported by a consortium of partners including Huawei, Proparco, TechCabal, and others.
