    Zoho expands in Nigeria, prioritizes community initiatives

    Zoho, a global technology company has announced it has achieved significant growth in Nigeria, expanding by 31% in 2023, even as it stressed that its commitment to the local market is further demonstrated through its community-focused initiatives and partnerships.

    Disclosing this yesterday in Lagos during the annual Zoholics Conference, Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head, Zoho Nigeria stated that Zoho has been actively supporting local businesses by offering its 55+ apps in Naira, helping them mitigate the impact of fluctuating foreign exchange rates.

    He also added that the company has partnered with Bridge International Academies to provide educational support to underprivileged children in Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda.

    “Our focus in Africa is not just on growth, but on ensuring that our expansion benefits the local economy, communities, and the broader business ecosystem.We are committed to hiring local talent, strengthening our partner network, and creating products tailored to the local market. We are also dedicated to serving the community through education and sustainability initiatives,” he said.

    Some critical announcements at Zoholics 2024

    Community and Environmental Initiatives

    Zoho’s partnership with Bridge International Academies aims to support the education of 200 children from underserved communities by providing school uniforms, fees, and other essential supplies. The company is also assisting the academies in their digitalization efforts by offering Zoho Wallet Credits.

    In addition to its educational initiatives, Zoho is committed to environmental sustainability. The company has been recycling billboards from its out-of-home ads, turning them into bags. Over 500 flexes have been recycled in Nigeria alone.

    Zoho’s Growth in Nigeria

    Since entering the Nigerian market in 2020, Zoho has experienced impressive growth, with a 43% compound annual growth rate. The company’s flagship products, including Zoho Workplace, Zoho Books, Zoho Desk, Zoho CRM, and Zoho One, have been instrumental in driving this success.

    Other Upskilling Initiatives

    Zoho has also been actively involved in upskilling initiatives across Africa. The company has partnered with She Code Africa, MOMO Pencils, J-Hub Africa, BabesGotBytes, and CodeTelligence to provide training and mentorship to young people and women in technology. These initiatives aim to bridge the skills gap and increase female representation in the tech industry.
