The program was designed with a focus on the over 65 percent of Lagos population which are largely youths, two-third of these are in the school system studying courses that will go extinct due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) acknowledges while Africa has missed out of the First, second and third Industrial revolution, it still has an opportunity of reaping the huge benefits of the fourth industrial revolution by harnessing the talents and resources in Africa and teaching them how to leverage Disruptive Technologies in solving problems.

Attendees were exposed to Design Thinking for Innovation through Disruptive Technologies, Process Management, Payment gateways, Innovation, Customer relationship management, Internet-of-Things, 3D printing, Chatbot integration and so much more.

Facilitators include, David Alozie, the convener and founder of Disruptive Africa, Isioma Utomi, Director, Business Development, Centre for Value and Leadership, Victor Ugorji, Lean Process Development Expert, Godwill Izibili, 3D printing expert, Cadworks NG and Lola Falokun, Senior Admin Officer, EDC (Pan Atlantic University), Chibueze Opata, Founder, Secapay.

“The objective of the project is to ensure that SMEs get exposed to tools, strategies and best practices that make it easy for them to run the businesses profitable and effectively”, David Alozie, the convener said.

“The debut of Augmented Lagos will see us replicating the knowledge transfer exercise across the federation within the next few months”, he added.

“Augmented Lagos is committed to re-branding and accelerating Lagos’ economy by empowering the participants with the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution. With a turnout of over 300 participants in 2 days, we make bold to say that we are encouraged to do more. We would like to use this medium to reach out to the public to look out for our next master classes and improve their businesses. We intend to work with prospective partners and sponsors in running boot-camps in strategic locations in Lagos”. He concluded.
