QNET boosts women’s financial independence amidst global gender gap

As the world grapples with persistent financial inequality for women, QNET, a global direct-selling company, is intensifying its efforts to bridge this gap through entrepreneurship. In alignment with International Women’s Day 2025’s “Accelerate Action” theme, QNET champions direct selling as a powerful tool for women’s economic empowerment.

The urgency is clear: a 2024 United Nations Development Program (UNDP) report reveals that 40% of women globally lack bank accounts, facing significantly lower access to formal credit compared to men. This exclusion, affecting over a billion women, hinders both individual progress and sustainable economic growth.

QNET recognizes the potential of direct selling to offer a viable alternative. Unlike traditional financial models, it provides women with accessible pathways to income generation and business ownership. Through structured mentorship, training, and resources, QNET empowers women to establish and scale their own ventures.

“Achieving gender equality is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of a prosperous world,” states Biram Fall, Regional General Manager, QNET Sub-Saharan Africa. “At QNET, we’re dedicated to accelerating women’s success by providing essential business skills, mentorship, and financial opportunities. Our flexible, low-barrier platform enables women to become entrepreneurs and contribute meaningfully to their communities.”

QNET’s commitment is demonstrated through initiatives like FinGreen, its financial literacy program launched in Nigeria in 2022. FinGreen focuses on building healthy financial habits, particularly in vulnerable communities, empowering youth, women, and aspiring entrepreneurs in emerging economies. This program directly supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals and fosters economic stability.

Akeem Ajisafe, Managing Director of Transblue Nigeria Limited, QNET’s local partner, emphasizes, “True empowerment comes from providing women with the right opportunities. Through our initiatives, we aim to equip women with the skills and resources needed for economic independence and long-term success, addressing gender disparity in Nigeria and across Africa.”

By prioritizing financial inclusion and skill development, QNET is actively supporting women in building sustainable businesses and driving economic growth. As the global push for gender equality intensifies, QNET remains committed to creating a future where women thrive as leaders and entrepreneurs.
