In a proactive stride towards safeguarding its burgeoning digital economy and cementing its status as Africa’s leading technology hub, Nigeria is set to host its inaugural National Cybersecurity Conference (NCSC 2025). This landmark event, a collaborative effort between the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), will convene from July 9th to 10th, 2025, in Abuja.

The announcement came during a press conference at the NITDA Headquarters in Abuja, where the Director-General of NITDA, Mal. Kashifu Inuwa underscored the paramount importance of cybersecurity in an increasingly digitized Nigeria. He highlighted the dual nature of the digital age, presenting both immense opportunities for innovation and pressing risks such as cybercrime, data breaches, and threats to critical national infrastructure.

Themed “Securing Nigeria’s Digital Future: Innovation, Collaboration, and Resilience,” NCSC 2025 is poised to be a premier platform for strategic engagement, knowledge-sharing, and the cultivation of crucial partnerships. Organized in collaboration with QNA International, Dubai, a global leader in industry events—and with broad participation from public and private sectors, the two-day hybrid conference promises a world-class experience.

Attendees can look forward to a dynamic agenda featuring live technical sessions, workshops, and product exhibitions. The conference will also host insightful keynotes and panel discussions with global cybersecurity experts, fostering a rich environment for learning and exchange. A highlight for young Nigerian talent will be a “Capture the Flag (CTF)” hackathon, designed to engage and empower the nation’s emerging cybersecurity professionals. Networking opportunities for public and private sector players will abound, culminating in an award dinner celebrating outstanding contributions to the cybersecurity landscape.

NCSC 2025 is strategically designed to achieve several key objectives: strengthening Nigeria’s cyber resilience and protecting critical digital infrastructure, facilitating international cooperation in combating cybercrime, promoting cybersecurity innovation and workforce development, fostering inter-agency and multi-sectoral coordination, and encouraging youth participation and talent discovery through competitions.

As Nigeria continues its rapid emergence as a leading tech hub in Africa, this landmark event reaffirms the nation’s commitment to shaping cybersecurity policy and innovation, not only nationally but across the entire continent.
