Getz Pharma Nigeria Limited has teamed up with CHI Pharmaceuticals Limited, a member of the Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group, in a landmark partnership set to significantly improve access to essential medicines across Nigeria.

This collaboration leverages CHI Pharma’s extensive nationwide distribution network, which includes over 5,000 registered pharmaceutical outlets, covering more than half of Nigeria’s licensed pharmacies.

The strategic alliance, announced at CHI Pharma’s Lagos headquarters, gives Getz Pharma immediate access to a robust distribution infrastructure.

Shriram Iyer, Chief Operating Officer at CHI Pharma, emphasized the depth of their network, stating, “Getz Pharma chose us for a reason. We have built deep relationships across Nigeria’s pharmaceutical landscape for almost three decades, and now, they are tapping into that infrastructure to bring lifesaving medications closer to the people who need them most.”

This collaboration, formalized after a six-month due diligence period, operates on a multiple distribution model designed to ensure consistent product availability and business continuity.

Syed Khairat Haider, General Manager – Commercial, Getz Pharma Nigeria, highlighted the patient-centric approach: “Patients suffer when quality drugs are unavailable. This model ensures pharmacies and hospitals always have access. We are investing in sustainability, scale, and speed.”

With a combined field force of over 60 dedicated to activation, awareness, and distribution, the partnership strategically allocates responsibilities. Getz Pharma will focus on physician engagement and education, while CHI Pharma will manage last-mile delivery and retail placement. Timothy Olabiyi, Sales Director for General Trade at CHI Pharma, added, “We have built this model to ensure deep penetration of Getz Pharma brands into pharma channels such as wholesale pharmacies and retail pharmacies… We have done this successfully with over 17 other partners, and each time, the focus is the same: access, affordability, and ethical distribution.”

Early results are promising, with Haider noting, “Within the first few days of activation/launch, we have already surpassed our initial sales targets.” He also revealed future plans: “We are looking to expand into biologics and innovative therapies to raise the standard of care in Nigeria.”

This partnership further solidifies CHI Pharma’s position as a leading distribution partner in Nigeria, following recent collaborations with EVA Pharma and Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals.
