MTN Nigeria has successfully restored network services to 101 sites across 15 local government areas in Adamawa, Borno, and Kano states. The restoration follows a scheduled network maintenance operation aimed at improving service reliability in the region.
The maintenance, which occurred on Sunday, August 24, involved upgrading a damaged section of the network by cutting over traffic to a new fiber span along the AFCOT-Bawo Village route in Adamawa State. The entire process was completed before 1 PM on the same day.
The affected services, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and enterprise connectivity, have been fully restored and are now operating normally. The temporary disruptions impacted areas such as Girei, Song, Mubi North, Hong, and Michika in Adamawa; Askira/Uba and Shani in Borno; and Nasarawa in Kano.
MTN stated that the work was scheduled during daylight hours to ensure the safety of its field engineers, as the route is linear and unprotected. The company apologized for any inconvenience and thanked its subscribers for their patience.
This restoration is part of MTN’s ongoing effort to strengthen its infrastructure and ensure consistent service delivery, despite frequent challenges like fiber cuts and vandalism.
