MTN Foundation has solidified its position as Nigeria’s leading corporate social investment vehicle, announcing a cumulative spend of N32.3 billion since its inception.

The figures, released in the Foundation’s “2025 Brag Sheet,” reveal an expansive footprint that now touches nearly every corner of the country. By focusing on sustainable development and community empowerment, the Foundation has successfully transitioned from a corporate CSR wing into a critical pillar of Nigeria’s social infrastructure.

The Foundation reaches both urban hubs and rural heartlands through a hyper-local approach to development. Projects have been implemented across 590 Local Government Areas (LGAs) to ensure a wide geographic reach. This coverage includes all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Additionally, 3,604 communities have received direct investment in sectors such as education, health, and economic empowerment.

While the financial investment is significant, the human cost of the Foundation’s work is the true headline, as over 32.1 million lives have been directly impacted by the Foundation’s initiatives.

“From inception, we have invested N32.3 billion, impacting over 32.1 million lives,” the Foundation stated, reaffirming its status as the “foremost corporate foundation in Nigeria.”

In an era where Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is often seen as a marketing checkbox, the MTN Foundation’s longevity and scale suggest a deeper integration into the Nigerian socio-economic fabric. With over 80% of Nigeria’s LGAs reached, the Foundation is effectively bridging the gap where government resources may be stretched thin.
