    Board of CWG Plc appoints Adewale Adeyipo as acting MD/CEO

    The Board of CWG Plc, Ngeria’s largest system integration company has appointed Mr. Adewale Adewipo, the company’s hitherto Executive Director as the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1st of January 2019.

    CWG disclosed this in a statement in Lagos, saying the appointment of Adewipo is a response to the exit of Mr. James Agada, who has served as the Group Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer since January 1, 2016.

    “CWG Plc wishes to notify its investing shareholders and the general public of some changes to its Board of Directors and subsequently Management change. On the 31st of December 2018, the Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of CWG PLC, Mr. James Agada will be ending his three-year tenure which commenced on 1st of January 2016. The Board of CWG is thankful to Mr. Agada’s for his years of service and leadership and are grateful for his many accomplishments. Mr. Agada will be succeeded by Mr. Adewale Adeyipo (currently the Executive Director, Sales & Marketing) whose appointment as the Acting MD takes effect on the 1st of January 2019,” the statement announced.

    The new acting MD/CEO  holds a BSc in Computer Science from University of Ilorin. He is an Alumni of Lagos Business School (LBS) and also has several Management and Leadership trainings and certifications from Lagos Business School; Business School, Netherlands; MIT and the London Business School.

    Prior to now, Adewale has held several leadership positions in CWG including Business Development for the Telecommunications division in 2010 and Business Director for PAN Africa Initiatives in 2014. His expertise in sales supported the business when he previously served as a Director in Consultative Sales and Managed Services Engagements for Telecommunication Companies, which he has done for onwards of 12 years.

    The man, Mr. James Agada

    Before attaining the role of Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of CWG Plc, Mr. Agada has served as the Company’s Chief Technology Officer. Prior to this, he also served as an Executive Director overseeing the Company’s former software division, Expert Edge.

    Mr. James Agada holds both a first-class degree and a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, with specialization in Digital Systems, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He also holds an MBA from the International Graduate School of Management (IESE), Navara, Spain. He was pro term president, Lagos Chapter of the Nigeria Computer Society, and was conferred as one of the ‘Nigeria’s Top 50 Tech-Titans’ in 2016 by Technology Africa. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

    He has vast experience in consulting, software development, implementation and support. During his tenure, the Company embarked on new initiatives designed to reposition the company as the preferred platform services provider out of Africa. These initiatives include, the SmartMetering initiative, the ATM as a service initiative, BillsnPay, Unified Cooperative Platform (UCP) and Gaming Management platform. Previously he had led the company’s charge into providing banking software via their Infosys partnership and their home grown FinEdge Core-Banking application.
