    Nigerian Communications Ministry gets new Minister

    The immediate past Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Isa Pantami was yesterday given the portfolio of the Minister of Communications.

    Pantami, who was given the portfolio by President Muhammadu Buhari during yesterday federal cabinet meeting, replaced Barr. Adebayo Shittu, who has held sway in the last four years.

    About Pantami. Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami was born on October 20, 1972 in today’s Gombe State. He schooled at the traditional Islamic School for memorizing the Qur’an, called ‘Tsangaya School; Pantami Primary School; Government Science Secondary School, Gombe; Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, University (ATBU), Bauchi where he bagged a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science in 2003 and a Masters degree in 2008, before obtaining a PhD from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland.  In 2016, he was appointed as the Director General/CEO of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
