The Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN), has announced the indefinite postponement of the 2020 edition of the Cyber Secure Nigeria Conference, which was earlier scheduled to hold next month.

The postponement was announced in a tweet by the President of the association, Mr. Remi Afon, attributing it to the Covid-19 Pandemic and the restrictions on public gatherings with the ban on the interstate and international travels.

“Due to Covid-19, ravaging the world and the ban on public gatherings, Cyber Secure Nigeria Conference scheduled for Abuja between June 2-4 has now been postponed indefinitely,” Afon twitted via his handle @RemiAfon.

Regretting the postponement, Afon assured that the umbrella body of all cybersecurity professionals in Nigeria will continue to work tirelessly with its members and partners to sensitise Nigerians on the actions needed to remain safe and secure online.

He noted that as the association is looking forward to agreeing to a new date for the conference in the near future, CSEAN will use the current social distancing period to increase the cybersecurity resource capacity of Nigeria through virtual workshops and e-training.
