A new report by India based Value Market Research has attributed the growth in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) market to the rise in ICT expenditure by governments in several developed and developing regions.

The report believes that because IaaS can profit exponentially from higher accessibility, enhanced geographic reach and improved business continuity and offers the most vital benefits such as greater reliability, greater security, DevOps support and business focus, many governments are beginning to spend big on it.

“These are a major factor driving the growth of the market,” explaining that IaaS is a potential candidate of cloud computing for being the next-generation model of utility computing.

According to the report, IaaS is emerging as a popular computing model and has become the standard abstraction model for many types of workloads. However, the advent of new technologies as an alternative such as containers and serverless and the associated rise of the microservices application pattern is predicted to hamper the growth.

The report added that migrating to cloud computing is the ongoing trend for business as many enterprises are switching to cloud computing due to the growing trend towards the cloud and escalating penetration of the Internet.

Meanwhile, the report published earlier today also identified Amazon Web Services, Inc., Dell EMC, Google LLC, International Business Machines Corporation, Microsoft Corporation as the major players in the infrastructure as a service (IaaS) market.
