The hitherto Director of Public Affairs at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will today exit the telecom regulatory agency. This is after serving at the agency for 18 years, starting from 2000 as a Deputy Director at the office of the Executive Vice Chairman, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe to work on some World Bank Projects.
In a letter shared with the media, Ojobo described his 18 year journey at the Nigerian Communications Commission, Africa’s foremost regulatory body as a phenomenal one, noting that the media played a key role by extending their right hand of fellowship to him.
“My journey at the Nigerian Communications Commission comes to an end today. The support you gave me were quite invaluable and cherished. I may not have met all your expectations, but within this period we tried to be as professional as possible,” he stated.
While urging the media to support his successor and the NCC as much as they can, Ojobo noted that the media remains a critical stakeholder of the NCC as a harbinger of news and information. He promised to continue to network with the media on matters that affect the industry and other areas of interest.
Meanwhile, Ojobo who held several positions such as Deputy Director, Administration; Head, Licensing and Zonal Opeartions; Acting Director,Support Services and Director, Human Capital and Infrastructure Group from 2010-2012 in NCC, said he will be pursuing other endeavors after the exit, including the completion of his Doctoral program in Enterprenuer and Leadership with the Walden University in the United State of America.
