As Agricultural businesses continue to grow the engine of the country’s food industry, a high-flying Agric Start-up, AgroDomain has launched its platform in the Nigerian Agro market, promising to take the lead in empowering farmers with access to market and capital, link Agric produce buyers with reliable suppliers and providing on-demand logistic support for value-chain players.

AgroDomain.com is an integrated Pan African Agro Marketplace Platform designed to cater for the end-to-end requirements of the agricultural value chain, and envisioned to bring digital transformation to the agricultural ecosystem in Nigeria in particular and the entire Sub-Sahara Africa in general.

Founded in 2018, AgroDomain is using latest cutting-edge technologies to support every aspect of the agricultural value chain through creating products that enhance productivity and connectivity among every role player in the agricultural value chain.

Speaking at a ceremony in Abuja, Victor Ugwuh, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of AgroDomain said the aim of the Agro Marketplace platform is to empower Agricultural industry players whether big or small with direct access to what they need to succeed, wherever and whenever they need them.

“The platform which is the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa is purely digital and transactional in nature and is further envisioned to bring digital transformation to the agricultural ecosystem in Nigeria in the first instance and to Africa at large.

“AgroDomain provides end-to-end support across the agricultural value chain and empowers agricultural industry players, irrespective of their size,” Ugwuh said.

He noted that AgroDomain addresses the core needs of players in the Agricultural Value Chain in Africa namely: Access to markets, funding, reliable suppliers, data, farm cooperatives’ management, On-Demand Agro logistics services, and secure and streamlined payment platform.

In addressing these core needs of players in the continent’s Agricultural Value Chain, Ugwuh stated that in addition, the platform would among other things, provide farmers with unfettered access to markets in order to get competitive prices for farm inputs and services; and provide them the opportunity for capital acquisition for their farm projects, through crowd funding.

It will also guarantee farmers wider market reach for produce sales at profitable price; provide them digital network and extension services, insights and support; as well as provide them logistics access to ease the flow of agricultural inputs, machinery and products.

The AgroDomain platform is a robust marketplace of Crop, Livestock, Farm Inputs, Farm Machinery and Farm Funding. It also serves as an Agro Trucker, Agro Insurance hub, Agro digital network, Farm Cooperative management tool, and integrated eWallet and Payment system.

Already, AgroDomain is receiving very positive testimonials from some of the country’s Agric sector stakeholders.

Evelyn Obrakpe, a Cash Crop Manager said: “I was highly impressed with the support I received from the service support team at AgroDomain. They simplified even the seemingly difficult task and provided me with the confidence to engage when I was in doubt. They’re always willing to help out.”

Another stakeholder, Obi Ayamke, a Farm Operations Manager stated: “AgroDomain has afforded us the opportunity to reach a vast network of credible buyers within a short period of time. This has enabled us to expand our market reach as well as increase our turnover tremendously. The platform has become a catalyst for our business.”

And for Chinedu Nwankwo, a Farm Cooperative President, “We have been able to purchase most of the seeds and fertilizers we need for our production through AgroDomain. It is the only Agro Platform that caters for both the small, big and the co-operative farm interests. It has made life easier for us.”
