    CWG Plc issues statement after fire incident, says ‘It is well’

    Nigeria’s largest system integration company, CWG Plc has assured its customers, neigbouring community and the general public that the company and its staff are safe after a fire incident that occurred in the early hours of yesterday, being September 23, 2019.

    In a statement issued and signed by Mrs. Anthonia Ehanmo, Group Head, Brand & Marketing Communications, CWG explained that the fire broke out within one of the premises, located at Lekki Phase 1, disclosing that the building affected currently serves as  a storage unit for the location with a few personnel operating there.

    The statement added that immediate action to contain the fire was undertaken as staff in adjoining premises were evacuated. The company also disclosed that there was some level of material loss with the building; thankfully, no injury or loss of lives were recorded as a result of this incident. 

    The statement reads in part: “The eventual containment of the fire was achieved when Officers of the Fire Service Units arrived at the scene, ensuring the confinement of same, to avoid damage to other surrounding structures.

    Whilst we wait on the official investigation to the cause of the fire, we wish to express our immense appreciation to our Staff, neighbouring community and indeed the dedicated men of the Fire Service Stations for their swift intervention and assistance in quelling the situation.”

    While ensuring the highest standards of safety in all the locations/Countries where it operates, CWG Plc said it is dedicated to safeguarding the health and safety of its employees.
