Nigeria’s WEMA Bank has completed the upgrade of its Finacle 10 core banking application. Its Information Communications Technology vendor, CWG Plc that aided the upgrade has revealed.

The global upgrade is now completed within the financial institution’s banking system. According to CWG, the upgrade will further enhance WEMA Bank’s branch and e-banking service offerings to customers whilst reducing system downtime and improving access to banking services.

This upgrade follows WEMA Bank’s upgrade to Finacle 10.2 in December 2011, which makes the bank the first insub-Saharan African financial institution to fully deploy the Finacle application, riding on CWG’s expertise.

In a recent email communication, CWG noted that it is happy to be associated with key achievements of progress, particularly those which were to buttress efficiencies; such as the Finacle 10 upgrade. “CWG has been successful in upgrading WEMA Bank’s system. We are elated to be associated with key achievements that support our mandate to deploy technology solutions which enable growth within various sectors of our economy,” it said.

CWG has over the last two decades, been Infosys Partner, deploying the Finacle core banking application to a number of financial Institutions in Nigeria and having a sufficient pool of Finacle certified personnel, who possess the competency and capacity to implement the Finacle suite of solutions, end-to-end, ably backed by more experienced team that provides 24×7 support.

CWG has since strengthened the Partnership by offering the Finacle Banking solution as a Managed Service on Cloud in order to help banks optimize operating expenditure.
