In a bid to speedily extend its fibre roll out to the South-East and South-South regions of Nigeria, Galaxy Backbone has partnered Interra Networks to ensure that Small Businesses and State Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies across the two regions can benefit from its service.

Thus, the federal government-owned company is preparing the Staff of Interra Networks, a Network Communications and services company to help in selling GBB services across that region, by organising a One-day training that will help equip the Staff on the GBB Digital Services that are specific to Public sector companies and to Small & Medium Enterprises respectively.

“Capacity Building is a core aspect of GBB’s evolution as an organization providing digital services across the country in line with the directive of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy which is the supervising Ministry of Galaxy Backbone. This training with Interra, will cover High-Speed Fibre Connectivity Services, Metropolitan & Wide Area Networks, Email, Hosting & Unified Communication services, Customer Support and Incident Management. GBB is committed to ensuring that its channel partners are fully equipped with the technical and services support & knowledge that will enable them to perform at optimum levels,” GBB said in a statement sent to our reporter via email.

The statement disclosed that the training is taking place in Enugu, where Galaxy Backbone has its Disaster Recovery Datacentre that supports its Uptime certified Tier III Datacentre in Abuja.

With this fibre connectivity in two geopolitical zones in Nigeria, GBB is deepening broadband penetration across the country and widening the digital transformation drive of the federal government. GBB will continue to deepen its partnerships with local ICT companies across the country in ensuring that more organizations at the state and local levels benefit from this fibre rollout.
