    Konga Communications hosts NBC delegation, reaffirms commitment to excellence and compliance

    A landmark visit from the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) team to the studios of KongaTV and KongaFM 103.7 on Monday, February 24, 2025, marked a significant step in the station’s journey toward delivering high-quality, engaging, and regulatory-compliant content.

    Led by NBC Director General, Charles Ebuebu, the delegation, which included Lagos Zonal Director, Raphael Akpan, and Director of Public Affairs, Susan Obi, was warmly received by the leadership of Konga Communications. This included Head (KongaTV and KongaFM), Ifeoma Ajumobi; Team Lead KongaTV, Ayo Jimi; Team Lead KongaFM, Chidi Okenne; and Team Lead Operations, Ahmed Jaiyeola.

    The NBC’s visit proved both insightful and productive, with the regulatory body providing invaluable feedback and guidance on content direction and operational standards. Emphasizing the importance of community engagement and responsible broadcasting, the NBC urged KongaTV and KongaFM to prioritize climate change sensitization within their programming and scheduling—a crucial move in the global effort to raise environmental awareness.

    Furthermore, the commission reinforced the need for the station’s content to reflect a minimum of 70% commerce-related programming and 20% news, aligning with Konga’s core mission to bridge the gap between entertainment and commerce. The NBC also advised the station to actively solicit and encourage audience feedback, creating a robust channel for listeners and viewers to share their perspectives, regardless of their nature.

    Speaking on the visit, Ms. Ajumobi expressed deep gratitude for the NBC’s support and reaffirmed the station’s unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of broadcasting.

    “We are incredibly honored to have hosted the NBC team and benefited from their wealth of experience and insight. Their feedback provides us with a clear roadmap to strengthen our content, enhance audience engagement, and ensure we remain fully compliant with the NBC code. At KongaTV and KongaFM, we are committed to creating innovative, commerce-driven, and informative programming, while also championing crucial causes like climate action and community development. This visit has further inspired us to elevate our standards,” Ajumobi stated.

    As KongaTV and KongaFM continue to expand their reach and impact, the collaborative engagement with the NBC underscores their commitment to delivering quality content that educates, entertains, and empowers. Konga Communications is poised to lead the charge into a bright future.
