Rack Centre, West Africa’s premier carrier and cloud-neutral data center provider, has reinforced its commitment to Nigeria’s digital economy by expanding its state-of-the-art data center facilities. This expansion aims to foster sustainable digitization and create new job opportunities.

Lars Johannisson, CEO of Rack Centre, explained that the company’s strategic focus on efficiency and cost optimization is driven by a desire to provide businesses with a competitive edge in the digital landscape. The construction of the LGS2 data center, in response to the growing digital transformation needs of various sectors, is expected to generate new jobs, solidifying Rack Centre’s role as a key employer of IT professionals in the region.

Johannisson emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability, highlighting the energy-efficient design of the new facility with a PUE of 1.35, one of the lowest in the region. Rack Centre’s commitment to providing value-driven digital solutions that support both clients and a sustainable future is evident in this expansion.

Rack Centre’s technical expertise has been widely recognized, as evidenced by numerous international awards won over the past decade. In 2018, the company’s Head of Data Centre Services was awarded Data Centre Manager of the Year at the DCD Global Awards, and in 2019, the Operations Team received the Operations Team of the Year award. These accolades underscore Rack Centre’s excellence in service delivery and operational standards.

Earlier this year, Rack Centre hosted the “Waste to Energy Summit,” bringing together key stakeholders to discuss innovative energy efficiency and environmental sustainability solutions. This event further solidified the company’s commitment to sustainable digitization in the region.
