TD Africa, a leading technology distributor in Sub-Saharan Africa, has received two significant certifications: ISO 42001 (Artificial Intelligence Management Systems) and ISO 27701 (Privacy Information Management Systems). These certifications raise the bar for digital transformation on the continent and position the company as a pioneer in preparing Africa for an AI-powered future.

According to Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, CEO of TD Africa, these certifications are more than just a mark of compliance; they are a reflection of the company’s commitment to building digital resilience in Africa with a focus on trust, governance and accountability.

Mrs. Ekeh emphasized that Africa should not be a passive consumer of technology but an active co-creator of solutions that address its unique needs in sectors like financial inclusion, agriculture, healthcare, and digital governance.

The ISO 42001 certification provides the first global governance framework for the ethical and transparent deployment of AI. It ensures that solutions align with human values and international best practices. Meanwhile, the ISO 27701 certification guarantees that TD Africa manages personal data with the highest levels of integrity and security, a critical step in an era of increasing data privacy threats.

For nearly three decades, TD Africa has focused on building lasting structures rather than simply following technology trends. The company has invested in robust infrastructure, distribution networks across 47 African countries, and a thriving technology ecosystem. Its TecHerdemy program, which has empowered over 400 women in technology, further highlights its role in fostering inclusive digital growth.

These new ISO certifications strengthen TD Africa’s ability to responsibly distribute and support advanced AI technologies through its extensive network of resellers. As the world moves toward the next generation of AI, including breakthroughs like GPT-5, TD Africa is making sure Africa has not only access to innovation but also the confidence and discipline to use it sustainably.

“This is not just an achievement for TD Africa; it’s a milestone for Africa,” Mrs. Ekeh added. “The global AI conversation can’t be limited to Silicon Valley or Beijing alone. Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, Kigali, and Johannesburg must also have a strong voice, and TD Africa is proud to amplify that voice. We are not waiting for tomorrow; we are preparing for tomorrow, today.”

With these certifications, TD Africa reaffirms its leadership in technology distribution and signals a new era where Africa plays a decisive role in the global digital renaissance.
