Tech giant TECNO is taking a big step to support young football talent in Nigeria. They recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Lagos State Sports Commission to kick off a project that will revamp a local football pitch in Lagos.

This initiative goes beyond just fixing up a field. TECNO’s vision is to transform neglected pitches into top-notch training centers. This will provide a safe and inspiring space for young athletes to develop their skills and chase their dreams of becoming football stars.

The signing ceremony, held at the Lagos State Sports Commission office, was a significant moment for Lagos and Nigerian grassroots football. TECNO’s Managing Director, Chidi Okonkwo, emphasized the company’s commitment, stating their goal is to empower young Nigerians to reach their full potential.

This project is just the first step. Inspired by the excitement of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, TECNO aims to revitalize 100 football pitches across Africa. Lagos is the lucky first beneficiary, but many more communities will have the chance to benefit from this initiative.

TECNO believes that football has the power to unite and inspire communities. By creating these vibrant training centers, they are not just improving pitches; they are laying the groundwork for positive change that extends far beyond the game.

This is a genuine effort to make a difference, one pitch at a time. With TECNO’s commitment, young footballers from underserved communities will have a platform to shine. This is just the beginning – follow TECNO’s journey on social media to see how this transformative initiative unfolds across Africa, bringing hope, opportunity, and the chance to create the next generation of football legends.
