The Chairman of the Specialised Exhibition Committee of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Leye Kupoluyi, yesterday in Abuja said the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has made Nigeria a reference point in the chronicle of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Kupoluyi stated this when he led a delegation from the Chamber on a courtesy visit to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

“The great impact of ICT and telecoms in all spheres of Nigerian life today has been heralded by the Nigerian Communications Commission,” he said, stressing that the country needs to take up the challenge of re-storying the gains in the context that makes meaning to more Nigerians.

Kupoluyi, said since the year 2000, the NCC as the regulatory authority of telecommunications in Nigeria has served diligently as the organiser and manager of the ICT revolution in Nigeria and he would love to put on record NCC’s renowned demonstration of support to stakeholders in the ICT ecosystem through objective collaborations, partnerships and endorsements.

He added that the objective of the visit by LCCI was to thank NCC for supporting the past four editions of the Information Communication Technology and Telecommunications (ICTEL) Expo powered by LCCI, and to solicit for collaboration of the Commission in the forthcoming 2019 ICTEL Expo which will take place in Lagos from 16-17 July, 2019.

Meanwhile, Felicia Onwuegbuchulam, NCC’s Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau (CAB) who received the LCCI team on behalf of Prof. Umar Danbatta, NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman, affirmed NCC’s commitment to partnership and collaboration which finds expression in the item on strategic collaboration and partnership in the 8-Point Agenda of the present Management of NCC.

Accordingly, Onwuegbuchulam told Kupoluyi and his colleagues that their request for collaboration towards the success of the ICTEL 2019 Expo will be transmitted to the EVC, so Management can explore and leverage the opportunities for collaboration in keeping with the spirit of the 8-Point Agenda.
