    ATCON donates medical equipment to LASG in Covid-19 fight

    The Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) today donated some medical equipment to the Lagos State Government as part of an effort to halt the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

    The President of ATCON, Engr. Olusola Teniola, who presented the items through the Lagos State Ministry of Health, noted that the association is proud of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu because of his notable efforts at curbing the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak in Lagos through the Lagos Ministry of Health.

    “It gives me much pleasure to be present at the Lagos State Ministry of Health today, being the second day after the lockdown in the state to present medical supplies to curb the spread of coronavirus. Aside from our physical appearance today, our members have supported and still providing quality support for all Isolation Centers in the state by the provision of free internet service at all the centers and subscribers were given the opportunity of sending messages to their loved ones without paying for them,” he said.

    The medical equipment includes 2000 pieces of locally made facemasks and 18 dozen of 500ml Alcohol Hand Sanitizer.

    He said the donation is an attempt to further express the umbrella body of all Telecom companies in Nigeria’s solidarity and support for the good work the state and the Ministry of Health have been doing to stop the further spread of COVID-19 in Lagos.

    Receiving the items on behalf of the Lagos State Government, Commissioner of Transport, Dr. Fedrick Oladehinde appreciates ATCON for the gesture, saying the medical supplies donated will go a long way to help the Government curb the spread of the disease presently raving the world.

    “On behalf of the Lagos State Government, I want to appreciate you for the donation. It speaks volumes of the concerted efforts from all well-meaning Nigerians that the fight to stop the spread of Coronavirus and ultimately, get a cure is for all of us,” he said.
