    Nigeria Computer Society rolls out categories of awards for NITMA 2021

    The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has rolled out categories of awards for this year’s National Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA), scheduled to take place on Thursday 18th, 2021 at the Muson Centre in Lagos.

    The President of NCS, Prof Adesina Sodiya, who rolled out the categories at a press conference in Lagos, noted that this year’s NITMA will 51 members of NCS confer with Professional Fellowship, while three others will be conferred Honourary Fellowship.

    “Professional fellowships will be conferred on members of NCS who are recognized as authorities in their field of computing and have distinguished themselves through significant contribution to the growth of Information Technology through their professional expertise and activities. This year we are having the highest number of conferees in the annal history of NCS, fifty-one (51). Amongst the conferees is the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamsat,” he announced.

    According to him, among those to receive Honourary Fellowship for their dedication and exemplary service to IT growth and development in Nigeria are Dr. Bayero Garba Agabi,  founder of DigiVation Network, Mr. Kayode Sobajo, founder/Chairman /CEO, HIIT PLC and Tim. Akano, MD/CEO, New Horizons Plc.

    Other categories of awards are Digital Governor of the Year Award, IT Personality of the Year Award, IT Gold Merit of the Year Award,  IT Company of the Year Award And Youth Innovator of the Year Award.

    Meanwhile, this year’s NITMA will be chaired by the Executive Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Prof. Isa Pantami is also one of the eminent personalities expected at the event.

    Other side attraction is the launching of NCS education fund for innovation, research and development by HIS Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule Executive Governor of Nasarawa State and Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman Zinox Technologies.

    NITMA is a creation of NCS to celebrate innovation, excellence, vision and dedication of individuals and organizations within the IT industry and community in Nigeria.
