    Gov. Dikko visits TD Africa to propel Katsina State in technological innovation

    In a bid to propel Katsina State into a technological innovation center, the Governor of the state, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, decided to visit TD Africa and the Tech Experience Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, founded and owned by tech enthusiast, Chief Leo Stan Ekeh.

    The Governor visited with over 12 esteemed members of his economic team including the Chief of Staff, Mr. Jabiru Tsauri, and is focused on harnessing the transformative power of technology in the areas of agriculture, stimulating skill acquisition, drive economic growth, and attracting investments in line with the 7-point agenda of the Katsina State Development and Management Board (KTDMB).

    According to the Governor, the primary objective of his visit was to explore cutting-edge technological solutions capable of advancing Katsina’s economy. The high-level meeting at TD Africa focused on the implementation of advanced technologies such as precision agriculture, IoT-based monitoring systems, and data analytics to optimize agricultural practices, foster economic diversification, and nurture a new generation of digital natives ready to facilitate economic growth.

    Recognizing the pivotal role of technology in economic development, Governor Radda engaged with experts to identify opportunities for integrating technology across various sectors. Discussions included leveraging e-commerce platforms, digital payment systems, and the array of technology solutions offered by over 29 global brands in TD Africa’s portfolio, to stimulate growth, create employment opportunities, and enhance the overall business environment in Katsina State.

    His exploration of the Tech Experience Centre which also houses the Cisco Edge Centre, allowed him to witness firsthand the latest advancements in various industries, underscoring the state’s commitment to good governance and a proactive approach to a tech-driven and progressive ecosystem.

    Furthermore, Governor Radda expressed a firm commitment to investing in tech education to empower the youth and prepare them for the digital age. In line with this vision, the Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management has been transformed into an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) University. This visit to TD Africa and the Tech Experience Centre marks a pivotal moment in Katsina State’s journey towards technological advancement.

    Commenting on the visit, Mrs. Chioma Chimere, Coordinating Managing Director of TD Africa, commended His Excellency’s visit and highlighted TD Africa’s commitment to driving digital evolution across the continent. With a vision to empower Africa with transformative technologies, TD Africa stands ready to leverage its over 25 years of global tech experience to provide tailored solutions to modern-day challenges across all sectors.

    By exploring innovative solutions for agriculture, economic integration, and investor attraction, Katsina State is embracing a forward-thinking approach that aligns with its vision for a prosperous and technologically advanced future. As Katsina leverages technology to unlock its full potential, the governor’s visit assures a positive change and sustainable development, with TD Africa strategically positioned as a key stakeholder to drive this change.
