Interswitch, a leading African integrated payments and digital commerce company, has partnered with global security leader Thales to introduce the CipherTrust Data Security Solution to the Nigerian market. The advanced platform aims to shield organizations from the growing threat of data breaches.

Unveiled at a recent Customer Engagement Forum in Lagos, the solution garnered significant interest from Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), Chief Information Officers (CIOs), and compliance experts from the banking and fintech sectors. The event delved into the escalating data security challenges confronting businesses, particularly in the financial industry, and the importance of robust protection measures.

Tyoyila Aga, Vice President of Financial Services at Interswitch Group, underscored the critical role of technology in safeguarding sensitive data. He emphasized the need for industry-wide collaboration to address evolving threats and comply with stringent regulations. “Our partnership with Thales is a testament to our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that protect our clients,” Aga said.

CipherTrust offers a comprehensive suite of tools, including advanced encryption, key management, and access controls, to safeguard data across various environments. Neil Cosser, Regional Sales Director for Africa at Thales Group, explained that the platform’s combination of encryption technologies, multi-factor authentication, and fraud detection capabilities makes it a formidable defense against cyber threats.

“Beyond protection, CipherTrust empowers businesses to harness the full potential of their data through enhanced efficiency, informed decision-making, and innovation,” Cosser added.

The collaboration between Interswitch and Thales marks a significant step towards a more secure digital ecosystem in Nigeria. By combining their expertise, the two companies aim to fortify the nation’s security landscape and enable businesses to thrive in the digital age.
