Women In Technology In Nigeria (WITIN) has been honored with the prestigious Inspiring Women in Science Outreach Award by Nature. This recognition highlights WITIN’s commitment to increasing female representation in STEM fields, particularly in health, security, and technology.

WITIN’s founder and executive director, Martha Alade, accepted the award in London. She expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the organization’s mission to provide underserved girls with access to STEM education and opportunities.

The award judges were impressed by WITIN’s clear goals and its focus on empowering both girls and teachers. They also commended the organization’s community-driven approach.

Dr. Magdalena Skipper, Editor-in-Chief of Nature, stressed the importance of diversity in science and the need to encourage women and girls to pursue STEM careers.

The Nature Awards for Inspiring Women in Science, a partnership between Nature and The Estée Lauder Companies, recognizes individuals and organizations working to promote gender equality in STEM.

WITIN’s board members and supporters celebrated the award, acknowledging its significance in further motivating the organization to empower young Nigerian women and girls. They expressed their dedication to continuing to bridge the gender gap in technology and inspire future generations of female leaders.
