Interswitch’s Technovation 3.0 Hackathon once again showcased the boundless potential of Africa’s tech ecosystem. The event, which took place recently, brought together some of the brightest minds in technology, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving to compete for top honors and significant seed funding.

After days of intense coding, brainstorming, and prototyping, a panel of expert judges selected the top three teams based on their innovative ideas, technical prowess, and potential for real-world impact.

    The Winners:

    1. Skoot Labs: This team took home the grand prize of N5 million for their innovative child-friendly mobile banking and savings platform. Skoot Labs aims to empower young children with financial literacy and secure savings for their future.
    2. Technovate: The first runners-up, Technovate, secured N3 million for their all-in-one solar inverter system. This solution promises to provide clean and affordable energy to both rural and urban communities.
    3. FusionBuild: The second runners-up, FusionBuild, received N2 million for their project that aims to revolutionize credit access for salary earners in Nigeria.

    A Commitment to Innovation

Adaobi Okerekeocha, Interswitch’s Chief Innovation Officer, expressed her enthusiasm for the winning teams and their visionary ideas. She emphasized Interswitch’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting talented individuals who are shaping the future of technology.

“At Interswitch, we believe in the power of innovation to solve real-world problems and create a better future,” said Okerekeocha. “The projects showcased at this year’s hackathon demonstrate the immense talent and creativity within our organization and the broader tech community.”

As the 3rd edition of the Interswitch Technovation Hackathon concludes, it’s clear that the future of African tech is bright. Interswitch’s continued support for these talented individuals will undoubtedly propel them to new heights and contribute to the continent’s growing reputation as a global tech hub.
