The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy (FMCIDE) has announced the selection of an additional 90,000 fellows for the third cohort of its 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program.

Minister Dr. Bosun Tijani shared the news on X, stating that applications are still open for those interested in joining the talent accelerator program. The initiative aims to equip participants with in-demand tech skills, positioning them to contribute to Nigeria’s growing digital economy and global tech scene.

“I am pleased to announce that Cohort 3 of @3MTTNigeria is now live and we will be enrolling an additional 90,000 Fellows to start their training journey,” the Minister tweeted.

A Phased Approach to Talent Development

The 3MTT program is being implemented in phases. The first cohort, launched earlier this year, enrolled 30,000 participants, followed by the second cohort with 270,000 fellows.

Minister Tijani revealed that a significant number of fellows from the first cohort have already secured internship placements across the country. Additionally, all first-cohort fellows are actively participating in tech competitions like hackathons to apply their newly acquired skills and collaborate with peers.

    Building Nigeria’s Digital Workforce

The 3MTT program is a cornerstone of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. By developing a skilled tech workforce, the initiative aims to solidify Nigeria’s position as a global tech hub and drive economic growth.
