A powerful wave of change washed over Yudala Heights on April 17, 2025, as TD Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa’s leading tech distributor, proudly celebrated the graduation of 400 young Nigerian women from its transformative TecHERdemy program.
These determined individuals spent the past six months immersed in intensive, practical training across cutting-edge fields like Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Development. Now, armed with in-demand skills and unwavering confidence, they stand ready to shape the future of the tech industry.
The graduation ceremony drew prominent figures, including Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of the Zinox Group. He lauded the graduates’ tenacity and intellect, envisioning them as “the pioneers of a new, inclusive era of tech leadership on the continent” in his inspiring keynote address.
Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, CEO of TD Africa, offered heartfelt guidance, urging the graduates to anchor their careers in strong values. “Let integrity be your compass, innovation your fuel, and your impact the loudest testament to your abilities,” she passionately advised.
The air resonated with personal triumphs as graduates shared their journeys of growth. Yetunde Kayode, now a certified data scientist, eloquently captured the program’s significance: “TecHERdemy was life-altering. Launched in November 2024, TecHERdemy was founded on a clear and compelling vision: to empower young Nigerian women with globally relevant digital skills and unlock pathways to tech careers. Over the ensuing six months, it evolved into more than just a training initiative; it ignited a movement. This graduation marks not an end, but the dawn of a more vibrant and inclusive tech landscape in Africa.
