Ahead of its Silver Jubilee celebration slated for later this month, Nigeria’s largest system integration company, CWG Plc has announced activities to mark its 25 years of existence as a company, operating in Nigeria and other West African countries.

“We are in the 25th year of existence and have decided to make it a memorable celebration for both internal & external stakeholders. It is our intention to mark this event by having key CWG stakeholders come together for a Gala night.  CWG communicated this in a statement by the Group Head, Brand and Marketing Communications, Mrs. Anthonia Ehanmo.

According to an Anniversary calendar, shared by the company, there will kick start with a General Assembly, dubbed CWG Diversity Day; with members of staff coming together for a Thanksgiving at the Company’s Corporate Headquarters and all other sub-offices across all the regions it operates in, PortHarcourt; Abuja; Ghana; Cameroun and Uganda. It also included a series of familiarization tours open for staff and shareholders to refresh themselves on the competency and capacity available to all.

The statement noted that the Gala Night, which is expected to host various stakeholders; Board members, Company’s executives, Senior management staff, Partners, Clients, Vendors, CWG Alumni, Regulators and the Media, will serve as an umbrella to appreciate all and reward a few; whilst showcasing a couple of CWG’s CSR initiatives. It will also serve as a time to reinstate the company’s new logo and its standardized name as CWG Plc, having moved away from Computer Warehouse Group last year. The company also wishes to use this opportunity to request for more emotive giving towards the Internally displaced Persons in Nigeria, with particular focus on St Theresa’s IDP camp which CWG actively has tried to provide aid to. It is hoped that the Rev. Father in charge of the camp will be present at the Gala Night as specific causes ranging from health care, sanitary facilities, school uniforms and meals, which the camp is in dire need of will reeled out and request for support solicited.

The statement also disclosed that the Gala Night will serve as a platform to recognise the Founder of CWG Plc ‘Austin Okere’ for the good works he has done over the years. A line-up of people who were by him to make things happen will be recognized too; whilst using the opportunity to unveil the new Management.

Hitherto known Computer Warehouse Group, which recently rebranded to CWGPlc, started operation as a struggling computer and hardware reseller in 1992 has been able to weather all the storms that come with doing business in Nigeria, to become what many stakeholders in the ICT industry believe, is the largest System Integration Company in Sub-Saharan Africa.
