Global business sentiment saw a slight uptick in the second quarter of 2024, driven primarily by advancements in technology, travel, and insurance. AI and cybersecurity emerged as key themes in corporate filings, reflecting a growing emphasis on technological innovation and risk mitigation.

GlobalData’s analysis found that companies in the technology, travel, and insurance sectors were leveraging AI to enhance customer experiences, personalize services, and manage risks. Meanwhile, challenges persisted in retail and packaging due to shifting consumer preferences, rising costs, and supply chain disruptions.

The United States, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and Israel experienced positive sentiment growth. Companies in the US were focused on technology advancements, while Indonesian businesses explored manufacturing opportunities. The UK prioritized energy projects and Israel navigated geopolitical challenges.

Cybersecurity concerns were also prominent in company filings. As data breaches became more frequent, businesses emphasized the need for robust security measures to protect sensitive information.

AI, particularly generative AI, saw a significant increase in mentions during Q2 2024. Companies are investing in AI technologies to improve efficiency, automate processes, and gain a competitive edge.

GlobalData concluded that the growing importance of AI and cybersecurity highlights the need for businesses to adapt to technological advancements and address emerging risks. While sectors like retail and packaging face challenges, innovation and digital transformation are essential for long-term success.
