    Treepz named best startup pitch in Africa

    Corporate mobility startup Treepz has been recognized as the Best Startup Pitch in Africa at the 15th Annual African Union Private Sector High-Level Conference, held in Lusaka, Zambia from October 31st to November 2nd, 2024.

    Selected from a pool of promising startups, Treepz was awarded for its innovative approach to transforming the mobility landscape across Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, and Kenya. The award, presented by the Global Innovative Initiative Group (GIIG), underscores Treepz’s significant impact on the African continent.

    In addition to the prestigious award, Treepz received financial support from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and Google, totaling $8,500.

    Onyeka Akumah, Founder and CEO of Treepz, expressed his gratitude for the recognition: “We are honored to have received several accolades on the continent, including the Best Startup Pitch in Africa, for our work in the mobility sector across four countries. This recognition is a testament to our dedication to providing exceptional mobility services to our customers.”

    Akumah also acknowledged the invitation to pitch at the African Union private sector conference, highlighting its significance in showcasing Treepz’s growing footprint in Africa.

    Florence Boboye-Sulyman, VP of Business Development and People at Treepz, delivered the winning pitch and accepted the award on behalf of the startup. She expressed her enthusiasm, stating that Treepz is poised to empower millions of daily commuters through the advancement of shared mobility across the African continent.
