MarketBuddy, an e-commerce platform, has officially launched in Nigeria, aiming to connect buyers and sellers nationwide.
The platform offers three key services: the sale of goods and services where vendors can showcase their products and services directly on the platform; the auction module which enables users to participate in auctions for various items and affordable web services providing small businesses with an online presence at a low cost.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Founder and CEO Adejuwon Adeboboye emphasized the platform’s goal of empowering artisans with a limited online presence. “We aim to bridge the gap between blue-collar artisans, who often rely on roadside sales, and a global market,” he said.
He disclosed that about 3000 artisans have been onboarded to the platform and about 15, 000 goods are also on MarketBuddy.
MarketBuddy tracks and reviews artisan performance, helping them improve and gain visibility. The platform also provides each artisan with a unique link to easily connect with customers.
Founded four years ago, MarketBuddy aims to address specific needs within the Nigerian e-commerce market. By utilizing the platform, customers can find goods and services within their desired price range and quality.
A key focus for MarketBuddy is empowering artisans with limited online presence. The platform provides opportunities for them to showcase their skills and reach a wider audience.
Onboarding process: Artisans undergo a rigorous verification process, including background checks and identity verification through a partnership with YouID.
Performance tracking: The platform tracks and reviews the performance of artisans, helping them improve and gain visibility.
Customized links: MarketBuddy provides each artisan with a unique link to easily connect with customers.
