Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) has announced that its National Shared Services Centre Data Center 1 (NSSC DC1), Phase 1, located in Abuja, has been awarded the prestigious Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility.

This globally recognized certification validates GBB’s commitment to delivering world-class digital infrastructure services that meet the highest standards of availability, resilience, and reliability.

As Nigeria’s leading provider of digital infrastructure and ICT services, GBB is dedicated to empowering organizations with innovative Cloud, Colocation, Connectivity, and Cybersecurity solutions. The Tier III Certification underscores the company’s dedication to building a robust and reliable digital ecosystem that supports the evolving needs of both public and private sector clients.

The Uptime Institute Tier III Certification signifies a benchmark for operational excellence and reliability. It guarantees that the data center infrastructure is designed to withstand unexpected disruptions, including natural disasters, cyberattacks, and emergencies. This ensures uninterrupted business operations for GBB’s customers and reinforces the company’s commitment to safeguarding their critical data and digital assets.

This achievement adds to GBB’s growing list of certifications, which includes ISO 20000 (Service Management Systems), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management Systems), ISO 9001 (Quality Management), PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), and ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management). These certifications demonstrate GBB’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.

“This Tier III Certification, alongside our existing Tier-IV Data Center TCCF, reaffirms our commitment to fostering sustainable partnerships and expanding our fiber-optic network to reach more communities across Nigeria,” a statement signed by Chidi Okpala, Head of Corporate Communications at Galaxy Backbone said.

The statement added that by creating a more inclusive and robust digital ecosystem, Galaxy Backbone empowers organizations of all sizes to achieve their goals with confidence.
