In our rapidly evolving digital world, being able to develop new ideas quickly is what ultimately gives you a competitive edge.

Not long ago, launching new software posed both time-based and financial challenges, a big, rare launch that could have terrible bugs and not give users what they want. But the best companies don’t do this anymore.

They now depend on an approach that enables them to accelerate their pace, pushing out small, regular updates without much risk. This is how good software engineering is done now.

This approach implies the need for engineers who build with speed and safety. While many think about the features, some leaders organize the whole launch process, creating a system that facilitates quick modifications and knowledge acquisition.

That’s exactly what Oyegbile Oluwabukunmi Rufus does. He is a senior software engineer who is great at continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and data-driven innovation.

He builds the base which enables a product team test ideas and change to fit what users need at a really fast rate.

A key part of Rufus’s method is putting in place advanced CI/CD pipelines (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) that automate the whole software launch. He also builds a firm system of feature flags.

These easy but strong tools permit a team to separate code deployment from feature rollout. By using flags for new features, engineers can send code to production many times a day without affecting users, as product managers can turn a feature on or off right away with a switch.

In addition, Rufus plans sophisticated canary releases and A/B testing. A canary release allows a new version of the product to be deployed to a small group of users (a canary) to monitor its performance and its level of consistency before a wider launch.

This is like a safety net that stops a bad update from reaching everyone. Also, the A/B testing that he builds enables a mechanism to compare different versions of a feature.

It sends some users to one version (A) and others to a second version (B), getting the data needed to evaluate which works better.

The real win from this is how it connects right to product strategy. Product managers use these tools to avoid relying on just guessing, but rather making choices based on real numbers. Instead of spending time on a new user sign-up in a meeting, a product manager can leverage Rufus’s tools to run a live test.

They can quickly test different flows, see which one gets more users to sign up, and then send the better version to all users with confidence. This quick way to modify products ensures that every change is proven by observing genuine user activity.

Rufus’s work in engineering shifts how a product team approaches things from big, risky moves to regular, learning from data.

He is the partner who helps product leaders build not only the right features but to execute this quickly and surely.

The base he builds allows the whole company to work fast and make smarter choices, demonstrating that the best products are ones created with the intention of consistently aiming to provide value to users.
