Nigeria’s Telecom House,  Medallion Communications Limited last night went home with three separate awards at the Instint Wave and the Association of Telcom Companies of Nigeria organised Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecoms Awards (NTITA) 2018.

The awards are ‘Telecom Solutions Provider of the Year’ and ‘Data Center Provider of the Year’, while the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ikechukwu Nnamani went home with ‘Telecom Industry Personality of the Year’ award.

Given the awards to Medallion separately, the organisers noted that Medallion deserved the awards as the company has been able to champion innovations and growth for the industry, which several reports say is contributing close to 10 percent to the national GDP.

“We believe that Medallion is one of the telecom companies in Nigeria that has championed innovations and creativity in the last one decade. Thus, these awards are well-deserved,” the organizers enthused.

Meanwhile, an elated Chief Executive Officer of Medallion Communications Limited, Mr. Ikechukwu Nnamani has dedicated the awards to the staff of the company, whom he described as resilience despite some teething challenges.

He said the company’s staff are not only innovative, but have been able to display creativity that has berthed Medallion to where it is today.

Asked what is the next step for Medallion, Nnamani who was speaking to the press on the sideline of the event that attracted various stakeholders from the telecom industry, noted that Medallion is in its expansion phase and will soon launch other Tier 3 Data Centres and telecom infrastructure in other parts of the country.

According to him, such expansion is important so that other parts of the country can have access to telecom services, noting that telecom is an enabler in the area of E-learning, Tele-medicine, E-government and other human endeavours.

“What these awards have shown to us is that the industry is watching us and have recognised our little contribution to the growth of the telecom industry. We will continue to provide services that will boost the growth of the industry because to whom much is given, much is also expected,” he assured.

The Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecoms Awards, which is in its second edition, is an industry award that celebrates innovation and creativity. Industry watchers believe NTITTA is the most celebrated awards, which has grown to be the Oscars of the ICT and Telecoms Industry attracting the top decision maker in the sector.

The 2018 edition was designed specially to promote success stories, technology advancement and disruption in Nigeria’s most dynamic business sectors. Not only do the organisers consider businesses, they also look at individuals who have made a genuine impact in the market, stressing that the industry is driven by people who deserve to have their contributions recognized.
