Nigeria Tele-House, Medallion Communications Limited has been declared the ‘ICT Hub of the Year’ at the 2019 Beacon of Information & Communication Technology (BOICT) Awards, held at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites yesterday.

The organizer of BOICT, Communications Week Media said Medallion won the award because it has the highest concentration of service providers on its foundational telecommunication infrastructure. Among the service providers Medallion is hosting are all the international fiber operators in Nigeria, long distance operators in Nigeria, metro fiber operators and all critical national content operators.

The organizer disclosed that Medallion currently has over 83 service providers as its customers, including all GSM operators, CDMA operators, Fixed Wireless and Fixed Line operators in Nigeria.

“We carried out an independent research and discovered that Medallion is today the most connected Data Centre in Nigeria. Thus, making it the ICT Hub of the Year,” said Mr. Ken Nwogbo, Founder/CEO of Communication Week Media.

He added that Medallion has become the chosen hosting company of choice for the major value added service providers and premium rated operators in Nigeria and international companies seeking to do business in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, an excited Vice-President, Admin at Medallion Communications Limited, Mr. Denzil Kentebe, who received the award on behalf of the company, has assured that the award is a call to do more for the advancement of telecommunication in Nigeria.

“We think the award is well-deserved. We are grateful to be considered as the ICT Hub of the Year. We have worked very hard over the years to ensure that our facility remained the most neutral infrastructural hub in Nigeria,” he said.

He disclosed that Medallion is expanding to other West African countries in the next few months, adding that the ICT Hub of the Year award has come to strengthen Medallion’s efforts to work very hard.

“I can assure you that in the near future you will see Medallion all over the country,” Denzil told journalists on the sideline of the awards that attracted all major stakeholders in the Nigeria ICT ecosystem.
