    TETFund strengthens relationship with Galaxy Backbone on research and technology

    Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) is strengthening its relationship with Galaxy Backbone in a bid to evaluate the modern technology available at Galaxy backbone, so as to determine its capability to handle his vision for TETFUND going forward.

    TheExecutive Secretary of TETFund, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro stated this during a courtesy visit to Galaxy Backbone’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

    Specifically, Prof. Bogoro said the strengthening of the relationship is in the area of research and technology that can be deployed to rejig the educational sector, so that researchers and professionals in the academic field in Nigeria, can document their research work over a Cloud platform that will be made safe and accessible to the global community from any part of the world.

    “We believe that working together with Galxy backbone in this regards can help to curb the rise in plagiarism that has adversely affected the Academic community,” he assured.

    Expressing delight in the services being rendered by GBB to TETFUND and its contribution to the development and implementation of ICT services across the country, Prof. Bogoro said he is pleased with the level of professionalism and services Galaxy Backbone has continued to provide, most especially in today’s Knowledge driven economy where everything is driven by Information technology.

    Meanwhile, the Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, Mr. Yusuf Kazaure in his opening remarks, thank Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro and his team for the confidence and trust he has continued to show in GBB’s services, reiterating Galaxy Backbone’s commitment to providing excellent and efficient ICT services.

    “Galaxy Backbone is committed to consolidating ICT services in the nation’s public sector and ensuring that all agencies are connected under one network so that the government can take advantage of the gains of economies of scale,” he promised.

    He urged TETFund to take advantage Galaxy Backbone’s fibre Infrastructure for TETFUND’s regional offices across the country, disclosing that Galaxy Backbone is building a technology experience that now traverses the entire country.

    He explains further; ‘Galaxy Backbone has consistently recertified its operations based on International service standards through its ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 certification because of its commitments to ensuring that organisations it serves experience excellence and high quality services.

    Mr. Yusuf Kazaure pledged his commitment to work with TETFUND in uplifting the level of Professionalism and excellence in the Academic community, using innovative technologies. The TETFUND team, were also led on a tour of GBB’s Network Monitoring & Operations Centre (NMOC) and its state-of-the-art Tier III Datacentre where Mr. Kazaure showed the ES and his team where GBB is hosting and has connected over 90 percent of Federal government Agencies and some private companies that are currently on the GBB platform. Organisations in both the public and private sectors, can take advantage and leverage on GBB’s network coverage and Tier III Datacentre for efficient and secure ICT services.
